| This is a
sample of wind gust readings we recorded. The Vigilant is
a wired gauge by Maximum Weather Instruments. It is a dial type gauge and is very responsive to the gusts. I was a bit surp rised to see the VP record higher gusts in the range of 20-30 mph, above that the Vigilant seems to record the gust higher than the VP. The anemometers are 3ft apart and the VP is 1ft higher. The Vigilnt has larger cups and spins oposite the VP. The stats also show what VWS reports to Wunderground revealing its slow response and lower wind readings |
